Founded in 1919 in Bath Maine as L.Bisson, Inc. by Lucien (Joe) Bisson, Bisson Transportation, Inc. ("Bisson") is, today, a highly diversified transportation company comprised of:
- Bisson Transportation ( Bisson's truckload freight hauling, brokerage and Yard Services division);
- Bisson Moving & Storage Company (Bisson's residential moving and storage division);
- Bisson-I&R Commercial Services (Bisson's office moving and office furniture installation and reconfiguration division);
- Bisson Document Security (Bisson's media and document retention and management division).
Bisson presently employs approximately 210 individuals and contracts with approximately 70 independent owner operators in eight Maine locations - Brunswick (2), Auburn (2), Westbrook, Jay, Skowhegan and Rumford. The company's strategically located facilities allow Bisson to service its clients in northern New England in the most cost efficient and responsive manner possible.
